As a copyeditor and proofreader, I help Northwest businesses, colleges and nonprofits turn out error-free, clutter-free and coherent print documents and Web copy. I have been wielding my red pencil—and delete key—on brochures, magazines, advertising and PR copy, newsletters, catalogs, annual reports, website content and more since 1994.

I developed my eye for detail as a writer for national, regional and local newspapers and magazines. Now I provide a fresh pair of eyes—and peace of mind—for clients producing anything from microbrew labels to coffee table books. I have a bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Illinois and worked as a reporter on The Hartford Times in Connecticut and The Harrow Observer in England before establishing myself as a freelance writer specializing in food, health and business. My work has been published by Women’s Sports & Fitness, Vegetarian Times, Working Mother, The Oregonian, The Los Angeles Times Syndicate, USA Today, PSU Magazine and Portland’s Business Journal.

I am program chair of the Portland-based group, Self-Employed Creative Professionals, and a member of the Northwest Independent Editors Guild, a regional group of professional freelance editors.
